Experienced Leadership. Fresh Perspectives.
Bringing A Clean Slate To Ucluelet. Honest. Dedicated. Proven Leadership.
"A down to earth experienced leader who gets things done."
Ucluelet Is Our Home
My wife Jean and I have lived in Ucluelet for over two decades. You can often find us these days at the Ucluelet Dog Park with our dog REX. We love to laugh that more people know him than us, as he is even the featured dog in the painting at the Dog Park... and made it to the cover of RollingBone Magazine!). We are a down to earth couple who are eco conscience and truly love the West Coast.Retired from RCAF, and trained in Air Force Pilot / Logistics / Emergency Services. I held senior leadership positions at AMEX American Express Canada as Director Of Sales & Marketing and was Vice President of Sales & Marketing for New York Seltzer Canada. I also hold diploma courses in Human Resources from BCIT.I have a deep understanding of civic duty; having served in Ottawa as a Councillor. I am past president of the ANAF Veterans Club #293 (Ucluelet), organized our Community Remembrance Day Dinner during the Pandemic and was the Project Manager for the Ucluelet Dog Park upgrades.Read full article on the Westerly News.
Let's Get Things Done
Honest. Dedicated. Proven Community Leadership.
As Mayor, I will work hard for Ucluelet with honesty and integrity. I will maintain an open door policy, seek the communities input, won't make false promises or offer quick band-aid solutions to community concerns; instead my goal is to take the time needed in order bring positive solutions to key items that arise within our town (which often times are more complicated than they seem). By listening closely when people talk about their opinions on the wide range of issues we face, like housing, water, infrastructure, healthcare, tourism, and growth, we can come up with ideas together that puts our community first.

A Clean Slate
As Mayor, I will bring energy, drive and a commitment to open, thoughtful and transparent dialogue with District Staff, Council and Residents. I'll bring experienced leadership and a fresh perspective to the table. I'll work collaboratively with all to effectively address our most pressing issues, now. It's time Ukee to bring a clean slate to the table and get things done.
Support community wellness through local childcare and ensure our children and family pet safety by implementing a 30 km/hr. posted speed limit in all residential areas with eventually extending to all thoroughfares within the Ucluelet community.
Actively promote recreational growth which would include the completion of the bike path.
Work closely and support the initiatives of School District 70 and resident access to the facilities.
Support both the recreation and maintenance departments of the District in their planned continuing initiatives.
Continue plans towards attainable and affordable housing; reach out to other island communities for their planned housing initiatives and focusing on the parts of their plans that best suits our community.
Work towards the completion of the new medical clinic and move towards the addition of a staff lab technician in order eliminate the need for residents to travel to Tofino for routine lab work.
Bring focused clear support for the renewal process to find funding for our aging 50+ year old Firehall & Emergency Communication Center.
Continue moving forward on plans for affordable and effective water treatment facility.
Increase community support for our Chamber of Commerce.
Strongly support local businesses, as they are the cornerstone of a thriving community.
Press forward on our planned affordable housing projects to get them done.
Balancing sustainable tourism with community growth, ensuring the required infrastructure upgrades are in place.
Foster understanding and co-operation while continuing to strengthen our community bond.
Protecting our environment now and in the future by implementing and strongly supporting the continued long-term plan of green initiatives.
